We respect the hard work you’ve put into your ideas and we respect your time by promptly responding to each and every product idea that is presented to us.
Once we have your submission with basic information and disclosure forms, your submission will go through the following process:
Anyone who submits new ideas or inventions to Medline will be required to first agree to our disclosure terms that no confidential information will be disclosed. Our policy does not permit non-disclosure agreements to be signed until our subject matter expert teams have reviewed the submission. This policy is in place to protect both the inventor and Medline. See disclosure terms
01. Online Submission
Our Innovation Team will conduct an initial review of your business proposition.
New inventions will be screened by Medline product managers and subject matter experts.
03. Information Gathering
We gather additional information from the inventor, such as prototypes and testing data.
04. Final Review
We make a final decision on whether to pursue the partnership and we provide feedback to the inventor.
Q:Will Medline sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before I share my idea or innovation? A: No. Medline will only consider non-confidential information for its initial review of your submission. If we have interest in learning more after our initial review of a submission, we will contact you to discuss how to proceed.
Q:I have not yet filed a patent for my idea. Can I submit it? A: Before you share your idea with Medline (or anyone else), we recommend you file a patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This is to protect both you and the person or company to whom you are disclosing your idea.
Q:I am looking for seed money to start my company. Does Medline fund start-ups? A: Typically, Medline does not provide start-up funding for companies to develop their invention. However, we do have a number of ways we structure intellectual property agreements, some of which include investment in early product development.
Q:Where can I find information on how to patent my product? A: The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office also has many tools and resources for inventors available on their website.
Q: How can I contact Medline about distributing my product? A: If you have questions about distributing your product through Medline or are looking for a distribution agreement, you may contact us here for more information.
