Founded in 1966, Medline’s roots date back to 1910 when A.L. Mills started sewing butcher’s aprons in Chicago and was later approached by nuns from a nearby hospital who asked for his help with the sewing of surgeon’s gowns and nurse’s uniforms. Today, Medline manufactures 80,000 medical products and distributes more than 300,000 medical devices across the continuum of care.
Medline has operated in Chicagoland for more than 100 years and is now proudly headquartered in Northfield, Illinois with more than 27,000 employees worldwide.
With deep roots in Cook and Lake Counties, including thousands of our team members and their families, we call this region home. We aim to build strong communities through supporting our customers in healthcare, making investments to support local economies and jobs, and partnering with many community organizations throughout the region.
