Keeping up with the evolving changes and response to the COVID-19 crisis can create confusion and the need for clarity. The following section summarizes some of the most common inquiries we are hearing from customers and our replies.

At the beginning of the pandemic, we invested in airfreight shipments to expedite PPE availability (including facemasks) from Asia—reducing time from manufacturing-to-dock by 3-4 weeks.

For isolation gowns, head/footwear and coveralls, we have successfully increased the production capacity at factories in Southeast Asia and continue to ramp up output there.

For gloves, we continue to increase capacity and airfreight product to get it in the hands of the frontline users faster.

For hand sanitizer, we converted our manufacturing plant in Wisconsin to produce 80% ethyl alcohol hand sanitizer. Our first shipment of 200,000 bottles was delivered to customers initially, with ongoing production set at 400,000 bottles per week. Our manufacturing plant in Connecticut has also ramped up production of 63% ethyl alcohol gel hand sanitizer from their historical 200,000 packets per month to 4,000,000 packets per month for April and May, as well as bulk production in gallon bottles and 50-gallon drums.

We’re working harder than ever to ensure our 26,000+ employees around the world are safe and productive. Here are the major initiatives we have implemented. For further details, check our COVID-19 Resource Center home page.

Only essential employees are working on-site. We have instituted temperature checks outside of manufacturing facilities before employees or deliveries may enter. We are also enforcing our policy for sending home sick employees.

Implemented a temporary hourly pay increase for team members in our 50+ distribution centers across the country to recognize their dedication to our customers.

All employees working in offices, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and delivery trucks are provided with masks.

Implemented a virtual queuing technology for customer service calls that enables customer service personnel to work from home.

Yes. The mouth is a breeding ground for bacteria, which can double five times every 24 hours1 and lead to healthcare-acquired pneumonia. It is critical during these challenging times to step up oral care protocols to help protect patients from secondary infections. A recent study shows that 1 in 7 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 acquired a secondary bacterial infection, and 50% of those patients died.2
